Life Section Colloquium — Liverpool, United Kingdom — 20-22 November 2011

The Institute and Faculty of Actuaries will host the 4th IAA Life Section Colloquium in conjunction with the UK Life Conference and Exhibition in Liverpool, UK from 20-22 November 2011. Follow developments on the IAALS website.

PBSS Colloquium — Edinburgh, United Kingdom — 26-27 September 2011

The Colloquium, hosted by the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, will take place at the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh. The theme, "International challenges in providing a safe and sustainable retirement", will focus on mechanisms to improve the security and sustainability of pension rights in both public and private pension systems.

20th International AFIR Colloquium and the 40th International ASTIN Colloquium — Madrid, Spain — 19-22 June 2011

The Instituto de Actuarios Españoles is the organizer of the 20th International AFIR Colloquium and the 40th International ASTIN Colloquium that will be held jointly at the MAPFRE Congress Center in Madrid, Spain from 19 to 22 June 2011, immediately following the 3rd Iberian Congress of Actuaries. IAA ASTIN Colloquium 2009 – Helsinki, Finland

The Actuarial Society of Finland organises the 39th ASTIN Colloquium. These international colloquia have been very successful annual events for non-life actuaries and this Colloquium continues the series. It provides a comprehensive scientific program with topical issues such as the use of internal models and Solvency 2.

Die Zukunft der Pflegeversicherung: Demographischer Wandel, medizinischer Fortschritt & ökonomische Vorsorge

Die demographischen Veränderungen in Deutschland sind nicht zu übersehen. Die Lebenserwartung steigt, die Anzahl an Kindern sinkt, die deutsche Bevölkerung wird somit immer älter. Die Folgen hieraus sind aus gesellschaftspolitischer Sicht eklatant, was sich unter anderem in der Pflegeversicherung widerspiegelt. Warum braucht eine Gesellschaft eine derartige Versicherung? Läßt sich die Versicherung langfristig noch finanzieren? Welche Auswirkungen haben neueste Erfolge in der Medizin auf die Pflegeversicherung? Welche Prognosen können aus demographischer Sicht gegeben werden? Fragen, die nur im Zusammenspiel von Experten der unterschiedlichsten Disziplinen beantwortet werden können. Die Deutsche Arbeitsgemeinschaft Statistik (DAGStat) startet mit diesem Symposium eine Reihe von Symposien die sich an Wissenschaftler, interessierte Bürger, Journalisten und Politiker richten. Die Themen sind dabei so gewählt, dass sie von gesellschaftspolitischer Relevanz sind und in verschiedener Form statistische Gesichtspunkte beinhalten.
